The Apple Event to be held on October 18th, 2021; is expected to revolve around the brand new Mac/s. We will get to see the 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro models, the new Mac mini, and last but not least a new pair of Airpods.
14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro Models
After waiting 2 painful, suspenseful years, Apple has decided to release a revolutionized 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro- this might as well be the most expected product from Apple this year.
The new MacBook Pro models are expected to ship out with the same flat-edged theme similar to the one of the iPhone 13, iPad Pro and iPad Air. So the exterior will look more or less the same, so don't expect any drastic, mind blowing superficial changes.
Excitingly the SD caed slot and the HDMI port will be reintroduced this year, the masses were not very happy when they were put out of design in the 2016 Apple Event.
The new MagSafe technology may bring faster charging speeds, but aren't privy to any more detail. Unsuprisingly, the MagSafe will require a new charging cable design and a redesigned power adapter.
Henceforth, 2021 MacBook Pro models will be removed of the OLED Touch Bar, instead you will receive a standard set of function keys.
As for display technology, it is predicted that a mini-LED will be put into use, and the MacBook Pro models will be the second Apple devices to feature mini-LED displays after the 2021 12.9-inch iPad Pro. Mini-led tech will allow for a sleek and less bulky design, while offering the several OLED-like benefits such as improved wide color gamut, high contrast etc.
In the new 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, Apple has taken the decision to stop the usage of Intel chips, and will instead be equipped with a faster and more powerful M1X chip that whose foundation lays on the technology of the M1. The M1X features a 10-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores, along with 16-core or 32-core GPU options.
64GB RAM, and both the Mac s' have an equality in features due to Apple's plans to use the same M1X chip for the 14 and 16-inch sizes. Both machines will be near identical, howver the prices between the two sizes will have a small difference. Stock models feature 16GB RAM and 512GB storage with upgrades available at higher price.
Webcam improvements- the new machines are rumored to feature a brand new 1080p webcam, which would be the first major webcam evolution in a MacBook. The current models use 720p webcams, the need for high video quality has increased over the past 2 years.
AirPods 3
The AirPods 3 are expected resemble the AirPods Pro, albeit with a shorter stem and a redesigned charging case, however they will continue to be available at an affordable price point and will not have features like Active Noise Cancellation and such.
Mac mini
A design similar to the current Mac mini, though with a smaller footprint and a top similar to that of plexiglass, on top of an aluminum enclosure. Bundeled along with four Thunderbolt ports, two USB-A ports, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI port, similar to existing models, but it is expected to swap to the same magnetic power power port that Apple first introduced for the 24-inch. Rumored that the "M1X" chip will be used in the Mac Mini.
macOS
iOS15, iPadOS15, watchOS 8, and tvOS 15 were all released in September. However the wait on macOS Monterey still prevails in its beta stage.
